Solsten Acceptable Use Policy
Effective Date: December 2024
You must comply with this Acceptable Use Policy when completing an Assessment or otherwise using the Services (each, as defined in the Terms of Service) or participating in any user research project conducted by Solsten (“Project”). Capitalized words not defined in this Acceptable Use Policy are defined in the Terms of Service or Research Participation Agreement, as applicable.
In the event of any violation of this Acceptable Uses Policy, Solsten may, in its sole discretion, do one or more of the following:
- suspend (temporarily or permanently) or terminate your use of the Services and/or participation in any Project;
- if you are a user of the Services, block your access to the Services and/or remove or delete content from your account(s);
- if you are a Project participant, terminate your participation in any Project, block your access to Project Materials and/or disable your access to the Third Party Services in connection with the Projects; or
- communicate such violation to impacted third parties and/or law enforcement authorities (where appropriate and subject to applicable law).
You agree that you won’t do any of the following with respect to the Services or any Project in which you participate, as applicable:
- Upload, submit or transmit any User Content, or make available any Project Data, that:
- infringes, misappropriates or violates a third party’s intellectual property rights or rights of publicity or privacy;
- violates, or encourages any conduct that would violate, any applicable law or regulation or would give rise to civil liability;
- is fraudulent, false, misleading or deceptive;
- is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, vulgar or offensive;
- promotes discrimination, bigotry, racism, hatred, harassment or harm against any individual or group;
- is violent or threatening or promotes violence of actions that are threatening to any person or entity;
- promotes illegal or harmful activities or substances;
- Use, display, copy, mirror, sell, resell, lease or frame the Services or any Project Materials or any individual element within the Services or Project Materials, Solsten’s name, any Solsten trademark, logo or other proprietary information, or the layout and design of any page or form contained on a page, without Solsten’s express written consent;
- Access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Services or Project Materials, Solsten’s computer systems, or the technical delivery systems of Solsten’s providers;
- Attempt to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of any Solsten system or network, or any system or network through which the Project Materials are displayed or made available to you, or breach any security or authentication measures;
- Avoid, bypass, remove, deactivate, impair, disable, descramble or otherwise circumvent any technological measure implemented by Solsten or any of Solsten’s providers or any other third party to protect the Services or Project or any Project Materials;
- Attempt to access or search the Services or the Project Materials using any engine, software, tool, agent, device or mechanism (including spiders, robots, crawlers, data mining tools or the like) other than the software and/or search agents provided by or on behalf of Solsten or other generally available third-party web browsers;
- Use the Services or any Project Materials, or any portion thereof, for any commercial purpose or for the benefit of any third party or in any manner not permitted by the Terms of Service or Research Participation Agreement, as applicable, including for benchmarking or competitive analysis, or to develop, commercialize, license or sell any product, service or technology that could, directly or indirectly, compete with the Services or the Project Materials;
- Attempt to decipher, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer any Project Materials or any of the software used to provide the Services or the Project Materials;
- Impersonate or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- Violate any applicable law or regulation; or
- Encourage or enable any other individual to do any of the foregoing.
Although we’re not obligated to monitor access to or use of the Services or the Project Materials or to review or edit any content, we have the right to do so to operate the Services and to conduct Projects, to ensure compliance with the Terms of Service or Research Participation Agreement, as applicable, and this Acceptable Use Policy, and to comply with legal requirements. We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to remove or stop using any content at any time and without notice, including, but not limited to, if we, at our sole discretion, consider it objectionable or in violation of the Terms of Service or Research Participation Agreement, as applicable, or this Acceptable Use Policy. We have the right to investigate violations of the Terms of Service and the Research Participation Agreement, as applicable, and this Acceptable Use Policy or conduct that affects the Services or any Project. We may also consult and cooperate with law enforcement authorities to prosecute users who violate the law.
